Remember that time I said I wasn’t going to do much more freelancing, that my life was too full?
That’s still true. But somehow, I’m here today to announce that a new album for Advent is available for preorder. The silly goodness of that makes me smile.
I’ve started a project with two friends here in the Indy area, Elizabeth Husted Duffy (with whom I went to high school, and who hosts me nearly every Monday for adoration at her church and magical lunches in her kitchen), and Kaitlyn Kammel Ferry (who brought her children to Cross of Grace for Harry Potter VBS this summer, and with whom I talked for way longer than one usually talks to someone one has just met, and who has been my conversation partner over coffee more than once since). Both of these women are musicians. Both of them are deeply faithful, intentional followers of Jesus. Both of them are funny as heck. Among us, we have twelve children (with Elizabeth having borne half of that number). Kaitlyn is a worship leader, Elizabeth writes for many publications. None of us has a great deal of free time.
And that’s why this project feels like such a gift, such a joy.
You can read more about what we are trying to do at the band blog. You can also preorder digital or physical copies of the Incarnation album. It’s a set of seven songs for Advent – songs for waiting, for preparation for the Christ child. You may recognize one or two – O Come, O Come Emmanuel – and you will be introduced to the songwriting talents of my friends on the others. I’m so very delighted to share this music with you.

As always, thanks for reading, and for following. I am grateful.
Many blessings in the waiting,
