Endorsements of Elise
Our congregation cannot get enough of Elise Erikson Barrett. She brings an engaging spirit, obvious faithfulness, intellectual integrity, and passionate devotion to every engagement, whether preaching, teaching, or leading a retreat. Under Rev. Barrett’s leadership, congregants and participants have experienced a holy mix of laughter and depth of meaning. On every occasion, people have spoken of having heard someone connect deeply to tender places in their lives as a result of her ministry. You can find a more famous presenter, but not a more gifted one.

Elise Barrett is a force of nature. Her tremendous gifts in preaching, teaching, and music have been galvanized by a robust theology shaped in the crucible of suffering and painful challenges. I know of few people who have endured more trials than Elise and her husband, Chris (the loss of family members, multiple miscarriages, Chris’ two-year nearly fatal battle with cancer, etc.). Elise has always been a phenomenal and insightful preacher, but, drawing from the well of those experiences and the grace of the God who sustained her through them, Elise’s preaching has that extra oomph. She preached for me several months ago, and people in my congregation are still talking about it!
